Happy Valentine Day Russ

I made this card for my grandson William Russell...we all call him Russ.  He is a wonderful little boy who can look as cute and innocent as this Sassy Cheryl image.  I believe his name is Noah, and the image is "A Mother's Heart".  He can also become quite rambunctious right after he gives you a big grin with a twinkle in his eye!  Anyway...I colored him with Prisma pencils, Promarkers, & Spectrum Noir markers.  The Spectrum Noir markers a very juicy, and I do not have the knack on how to use them yet, thus the heart bled into his nice green shirt.  I figure being just a small boy, he won't notice!  The die cut behind him is Spellbinder's Lacy Squares, not sure where the sentiment is from, but it was cut out with two Paper Studio Punches.  I used Kraft Paper for the first time and I think it looks good with the red. The material I used to make the bow?  Well...all I can say is I found it in my stash, and it happened to match the red paper perfectly!  Even though it is a card for a little boy, I don't think it's too fru-fru!  What do you think?

Lucy Lou's Valentine

Happy Saturday!!  I have been sick with a nasty case of Sinusitis, so I have been trying to make the best of it by getting some crafting done.  I made this Valentine Day card for my granddaughter Makayla using a Sassy Cheryl image called Lucy Lou's Valentine.  Makayla has the same whispy blonde hair & freckles.  I colored her with a combination of Prisma Pencils & Promarkers using my three favorite colors..pink,blue & yellow.  The solid pink paper is from Colorbok & the print paper from DCWV Glitter Mat Stack...one of my favorite stacks! She is framed on Spellbinders Classic Oval Large, then Floral Ovals.  The blue ribbon is from my stash, the sentiment is from  My Creative Time's 100% Sweetness set. I stamped it with Versamark & embossed it with very light pink powder.  I think she'll like it!  Thanks for stopping by to take a peek!

Sound of Music

The Fantabulous Cricut Challenge theme this week was "Sound of Music".  We're supposed to make something musical on our creation.  I have been neglecting my Cricut Expression for some time, getting all caught up with cardmaking, mostly coloring cute digital images to use on greeting cards for my family!  Nothing wrong with that, I love it!  But I need to incorporate both into my cardmaking!   Anyway...as much as everyone is probably relieved that Christmas crafting is over for the next ten months or so, (as I also am)  I saw this darling Christmas Caroling Duo from the Winter Frolic cartridge when I was looking for music themed images.  I remember when I first bought this cartridge how much I liked that very image, and I don't believe I've ever used it on a Christmas card!  The lamp post is from the Jolly Holidays Cricut Lite cartridge.    Sorry.. the picture is horrible...the background paper is actually very sparkly & bright blue in person!!  So I will tuck this away and send it to someone this coming Christmas, and will move onto the New Year for my next creation!

Thinking of You

Finally back!!  As you can see, the last time I posted anything was before Thanksgiving.  I figured with working full time, the holidays coming up, and Christmas shopping to do there was not going to be any time for playing!  I still tried to keep up with some of the blogs I follow but didn't create anything myself.  Anyway...this is my first card of 2013.  This adorable image came from Designed2Delight.  They have a Free Stamp of the Month Challenge.  If you use the image on a card, they send you the image for next month's challenge free.  This is my card for their December Challenge (it's due by midnight tonight).  Nothing like waiting till the last minute!  At least I'm back trying to create again.  Thanks for taking a peek!
