Happy Birhday Mom!!
My mother turned 85 years old today. She went through a very tough time over the last year. She went from being very functional in her condo & driving to social events to being very distraught and depressed & suicidal!! I'm sure many, many of you have went through this same situation. Our heads were spinning over the sudden change. She saw her family doctor, psychiatrists, etc. My sisters & I came to the shocking conclusion that she had suddenly gone from (stubborn, prideful woman that she was) to.....I'm tired & lonely & need help!! Like a whirlwind we had to sell her condo, find her an assisted living home, and secure her finances. Sound familiar to anyone??? I'm so thankful to God that once she got over the shock of living in her new home, she has now embraced her space and her new friends and participates in all their activities! We still go over every weekend to play cards with her & take her out to dinner. For this her 85th birthday..because she loves to look at pictures of all her grandchildren & great grandchildren..we made her a photo board. Anyway...here is the birthday card I made for her. The stamps are all from an Art Impressions stamp set but don't know the name.
You've Stolen My Heart
I have been planning to get a box of cards together FOREVER for the Send A Smile 4 Kids program. And then life always seems to happen, and then my craft room is always an organizational work in progress and I'm tired of making excuses & need to get on the ball. So I am dedicating this weekend to getting that special box together & mailing it!! Although the majority of cards should be everyday greetings, I wanted to finish a few Valentine Day cards to add to the box before I shipped it off. This card I fashioned after two cards I saw on Pinterest...one from Jennifer McGuire's blog that had a line of hearts like this, but she used a full die that cut across the length of the card. The other was from Nichole Heady that had a repetitive stamp across the card in different colors. The three different hearts are from a Close to My Heart Set called Whoooo's Your Valentine. I used my Misti and just eyeballed where I would overlap the hearts. That Misti is the best stamping tool ever created!! I also used it to stamp the sentiment from Recollections exactly where I wanted it. And in the corner....something new I have never used before but own plenty of (because I knew I would use them sometime & had to have them LOL!) is a section of "Say It With Bling" jewels from Want2Scrap!! Thanks for stopping by!

You Rock
I made this card with Valentine's Day in mind but it could be an everyday card to send to someone you love or admire!! The die is Vines of Passion from Spellbinder and I used the positive & negative and inlaid the pieces to form the heart center. I stamped the arrow & You Rock sentiment from the "Valentine" stamp set by Recollections. It was a lot of work gluing all those little pieces back into the heart but I love the result!!
